Another important concern is the weather. As said before, during winter months, it may be difficult for an outdoor runner to resume exercises outdoors. The same concern goes during summer months where the heat is blazing and sun is radiating in the sky. This makes it harder for your body to cooperate with the exercise you are doing because you may experience faintness, dehydration and probably heat stroke. With the treadmill, you situate yourself in a cool place allowing your body to work effectively and efficiently, thus, enabling you to finish your daily program swiftly.

Running outdoors may cause more injuries than training on a treadmill. Some treadmills are built with a cushioning material in them that enables less pulsation on the legs and joints. It should be noted that treadmill training is much different than running in concrete or asphalt, for the obvious reason of the difference in surface. But ideally, a lot of healthcare professionals would agree that treadmill training is more recommended than doing exercise outdoors because of the concerns mentioned above. However, exercise is based on a person’s preference and personal choice.
