Weslo Treadmills
Almost everyone in the world is becoming more and more health conscious. Each day new health discoveries are made, most of which cause great discomfort to all of us. With the advent of home based exercise equipments like the treadmill, households all over the world begin to make investments on these devices. Of course one major factor is the price of the equipment; even treadmills tend to be pricey. One brand, however, stands out for its economically friendly approach, namely Weslo treadmills.
Weslo treadmills are very much affordable; prices of these treadmills range from $200 to $700. This is mainly the reason why it’s popular on the market. These treadmills are for those who have a tight budget and are opting to save up on their purchase. The real question is, “Is it as good as its price?” If indeed price is directly proportional to quality, then expect a below average treadmill. Although Weslo treadmills do have features available, these features are below standards.
Even the Weslo treadmills highest model, which is the Cadence 255 DR treadmill, is criticized for having poor quality. This model costs around $700, yet for the added price, there seems to be insufficient additions to its features. This model basically has a 2 HP motor which gives it a speed capacity of about ten MPH, a power inclination of about 10% and a tread belt measuring 45” x 26”, Space Saver Technology (means it’s foldable), a small exercise fan, a bottle holder and a Comfort Cell Impact Absorption System. Many these features are already available on other Weslo treadmills. The motor on this unit is a bit more powerful than there older models, but doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a big leap. Some earlier Weslo treadmills have a manual inclination system while this one has power inclination, which is something very common for new treadmills. “The expanded” tread belt is still inadequate for a person planning on running in this machine. Instead of expecting a spacious belt for the price, you get something in mediocre. One commendable addition is the impact absorption system. This is pretty much an essential feature to all treadmills as this type of feature reduces the amount of strain in your legs and knees while running; although Weslo treadmills could have added this feature on their earlier models. Another commendable feature is the Space Saver Technology. Most homes are already jam packed with so many things and it’s good to have folding exercise equipment. This feature, however, is also pretty much common in other treadmills.
Quality wise, Weslo treadmills really fall short of other brands. Below average quality is already expected due to its very low price. The materials used aren’t sturdy enough, even for just running. Weslo treadmills have very questionable durability and can’t be used for extensive workouts that require a lot of running and pounding. The estimated weight capacity should not also be placed to the test.
Another thing to reconsider when planning on buying Weslo Treadmills is the warranty. The company gives a measly 90 day warranty. This only shows that they’re expecting their own products to easily breakdown and they want their hands clean after 90 days.
Overall, Weslo treadmills are below average. The only thing really good about it is the price. Quality, on the other hand is as low as the price. If you’re really into rigorous workouts, then Weslo treadmills are off the list. For those who are on a tight budget, saving up for a better treadmill is a way better idea. Investing on this would only limit your exercise options. There are other affordable treadmills with better quality available on the market.
